Urszula Orzeł
CEE Strategy and Market Access Advisor
Urszula brings over twenty year professional experience in the pharmaceutical sector. Within a top international pharmaceutical firm she has held executive positions both in Poland and abroad.
She held the position of a Managing Director in Bulgaria, and then she was in charge of an oncology field in Central – Eastern Europe (CEE), ensuring patients’ access to new technologies in five countries.
At an earlier stage of her career in Poland she worked in key areas of sales, marketing and market access (among others as a Market Access Director for Poland).
Urszula completed post-graduate MBA studies in the field of management and marketing at the University of Stockholm. She pursued her further education in the field of Executive Leadership at Simmons University in Boston and IESE Business School w Barcelona. She is also a graduate of the University of Economics in Cracow.
Urszula’s interests encompass non-profit activity in the scope of health promotion as well. She paid particular attention to women’s health as a member of Management Council of The Foundation for Women’s Health in Poland and an Executive Ambassador for Europe within ‘MfM Foundation’, an initiative for decreasing perinatal death rate of mothers.
In her spare time, Urszula climbs mountain peaks.
Experience
Selected projects:
- Devising implementation strategies for both highly innovative and mass products,
- Devising and implementing reimbursement strategies (a full market access scope) both in Poland and CEE countries, as well as in the Balkans,
- Designing price policy for innovative products upon market entry, as well as preparing price strategy in the conditions of high market competitiveness,
- Account Manager on hospital market, including building and managing of Account Managers’ team, hospital market analysis, mapping and efficiency analysis of purchase processes in hospitals,
- Managing multi-function projects (cross-country, cross-functional) in order to ensure effective cooperation with key clients from healthcare market,
- Building promotional, sales and access structures and teams,
- Preparing, implementing, validating of marketing, sales and access processes,
- Conducting a series of trainings and workshops in various fields – among others on effective access, negotiation, sales and competition techniques and strategies,
- Playing a mentor’s role for people from many European countries within the structure of a leading international pharmaceutical company,
- Devising a strategy for and conducting mergers in pharmaceutical companies,
- Supporting and managing restructuring processes.
